Welcome. Sand Mandala Foundation supports original thinkers, artists, and innovators. Our current focus is on supporting artists who are trying to actualize non-traditional visions of art and the world.

Richard
Founder
Richard (Morpheus) is an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, and a long-time Burner with a passion for design, innovation, and art. His passions also include justice tech and health equity.

Jamie
Grant Selection Committee Member
Jamie is a nonprofit professional and grant fund manager who also has a parallel life as an award-winning artist. She has been a Burning Man honorarium artist three times, won various art scholarships, and has had her art shown at the OMA. Jamie likes to push the boundaries of artistic medium, using a particle accelerator and lead shielding to manipulate the irradiation of acrylic in order to shape Lichtenberg figures using a 2.5 million volt beam. Her next paintbrush: a lightning rocket.

Kirsten
Grant Selection Committee Member
Kirsten is an artist known for reflective, large-scale sculptural installations of acrylic and steel. Living in Southeast Asia for the past 20 years has inspired Berg's striking style that integrates the West's inclination toward innovation and the individual with the contemplative, holistic perspective of Eastern philosophy. The fluid blending of Berg's project with their surrounding environments shifts perspective to a broader view, by revealing the illusion of boundary between viewer and object, personal and collective. Kirsten is also a long-time Burning Man artist.

Sofie
Program Manager
Sofie is an assistant and program manager for multiple projects from biotech to nonprofits. She has previous experience in building art instillations for Roskilde Festival in Denmark. Sofie is new to burning man and excited to experience the community of artist and be immersed in the art.
