Each year, the Sand Mandala Foundation sponsors up to two artists-in-residence. The program is designed to offer an opportunity to attend Burning Man to artists who are interested in bringing art to the event one day, and includes the costs of a Burning Man ticket, travel, and camp dues. The Foundation places the artists into appropriate camps, either Camp Sand Mandala or another art camp.
We prioritize artists who have. not has an opportunity to experience the burn previously, and the selection is based on talent, previous works, and fit with Burning Man culture.

Seth Schwartz
Often it’s those who enter the scene from a different background who take the evolution of music to the next level. Seth Schwarz is one of them. His powerful productions meet the expectations of the dance floor, but also break the circle of imitation and repetition. By merging the concepts of electronic music and classic composition he creates mighty bangers of truly symphonic dimensions.

Carlos "Dexter" Fuentes
Dexter is a Mexico-based artist who builds driftwood sculptures, supported by metal. His artwork is not only about creating beautiful and original works, but also about integrating it into the environment and interacting with the audience, contributing to an unforgettable collective experience

Clara Doan
Clara is a third-culture multidisciplinary artist with deep fascination in metaphysics, mysticism and mythopoetic storytelling. Central to her narrative is the unique struggle of growing up stateless, all while being molded by five distinct cultures from East to West. Moreover, her upbringing under a war survivor, refugee, and acclaimed novelist and filmmaker from the Global South has left an indelible mark on her pursuit of truth with unparalleled gravitas. Today, her artistic approach is informed by a rich background in academic philosophy, psychology, and spirituality, as well as her career experiences in cultural preservation, animal rights, and climate change.
